TOLEDO—The MultiFaith Council (MFC) of Northwest Ohio is hosting its seventh annual MultiFaith Banquet, an Erase the Hate Event, at 4 p.m. March 9 at Toledo Rosary Cathedral.

An optional seminar and cathedral tour by Father Charles Singler, Cathedral rector, begins at 3 p.m. A mixer with light refreshments and faith display tables representing a dozen faith traditions begins at 4 p.m.

The dinner is to be followed by a program featuring guest speaker Tarunjit Singh Butalia on the topic “Honoring the Tradition of the Other.”

Dr. Butalia is chairperson of the National Interfaith Committee of the World Sikh Council — America Region, vice-chair of the board of directors of the North American Interfaith Network, a trustee of the Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions and serves other local and national interfaith organizations. He co-edited “Religion in Ohio: Profiles of Faith Communities.” With a Ph.D. in civil engineering, he is on the research faculty at The Ohio State University.

Advance paid registrations are required to attend the banquet and are due no later than March 3.  Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and under. Child care for ages 3-10 is provided during the after-dinner program.

Businesses and individuals are invited to sponsor this event and the work of the MultiFaith Council. Sponsors are to be recognized in the printed program at the following levels: Platinum, $100; Gold, $75; Silver, $50;  Bronze, $25; and Annual, $300 or more.
