Programs offer ways to celebrate and enhance marriages Print E-mail

To help celebrate and promote marriage, several programs are being planned for the next month throughout the Diocese of Toledo.

World Marriage Day is Feb. 10, which is also the first day of Marriage Week. Both days seek to celebrate marriage and promote marriages in which spouses seek to grow as individuals and together mature in a strong and happy relationship.

“Honey, I’m Not a Home Improvement Project”

This program, featuring speaker Kevin Anderson begins at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Maumee St. Joseph Community Center. Sponsored by the parish, Swanton St. Richard, Toledo Christ the King and Toledo St. Joan of Arc the program cost is $40 per couple. For more information and a registration form, visit www.stjoseph

World Marriage Day Mass, Dinner and Dance
This diocesan-wide event begins at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 10 at New Cleveland Holy Family. The dinner and dance follows at the Ottawa Knights of Columbus Hall.

Door prizes will be given away throughout the evening, and festivities are to conclude at 9 p.m.

Married Couples Workshop: “Being Married and Enjoying It”
Father Dan Fraser, a widower who was married for 35 years and has nine children and 15 grandchildren, presents this annual series at Toledo St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Feb. 13-March 19.

The series is designed to enliven and enrich marriages by addressing topics including the art of communications, understanding your role in marriage and managing you time, money, emotions and priorities.

“I Take Thee for Love … and Laughter”
This program features speaker Kevin Anderson and begins at 5:30 p.m. March 1 at the Elizabeth Schaefer Apartment Complex on the Tiffin Franciscan campus. The evening features dinner, two presentations and a dance.

Sponsored by Tiffin St. Mary and Tiffin St. Joseph, more information is available by calling 419-447-2087 or 419-447-5848.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter International Convention
The annual convention is June 27-29 in Ontario, Calif. Details can be found at http://convention.wwme.org.
