OREGON—Father David Reinhart, President of Cardinal Stritch High School (CSHS), has appointed Andre Hampton as the head football coach for the Mighty Cardinals.
“Mr. Hampton exemplifies the values of Cardinal Stritch High School,” states Fr. Reinhart. “His commitment to forming disciples, encouraging hard work, and emphasis on the total education of a young person make him the perfect person for this important job. He brings the attitude, skills and enthusiasm that are always welcome at Stritch.”
Mr. Hampton, who replaces Tony Beier, who resigned as head football coach at the end of the 2007 season, is a native of San Bernardino, Calif., and came to Ohio in 1998 to play for The Ohio State University. After leaving the Buckeyes, he played and coached at Ohio Northern University. During his tenure at ONU, his team set the school’s record for most wins in a single season and reached the quarterfinals in the Division III national playoffs. Mr. Hampton has also served as an assistant coach at Defiance College, and most recently, Central Catholic High School.
