Can you remember back to a time when the first thing you did to find about a company or organization didn’t require turning on the computer? For many of us, that is just a distant memory since the Web has become such a rich resource of material. I know it’s the first place I turn to research retail purchases, look for directions or to learn more about any organization or subject.
Most religious organizations are right on board with the digital age, too. One particular religious order, the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity in Wisconsin, seems to have incorporated a good amount of the latest in Web resources to present its ministry to the public.
Its site — www.fscc-calledtobe.org — contains podcasts, free songs to download each moth, art of the month, blogs and videos.
“We want to present our life as a viable option. Personal invitation is always best; however, we became convinced that real conversations can begin by using the language of images and music,” says Sr. Julie Ann Sheahan, OSF, directress of vocations for the Franciscan order.
