TOLEDO—Mercy College of Northwest Ohio is offering a new kind of camp to area youth this year — Camp Scrubs.
Camp Scrubs offers the opportunity for students interested in math and science to participate in interactive programs including “DNA – Finger Printing,” “A Visit with Life Flight,” “Germ Warfare” and “Computer Scavenger Hunt.”
Other topics will include inoculations, dissection, math challenges, emergency simulations, critiquing X-ray films and anesthetics.
Camp Scrubs is for youth entering seventh, eighth or ninth grades in the fall and will take place at the college, June 23-27, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
All participants will receive a set of scrubs to wear at camp and to keep.
The program costs $249 and was created by the staff of the Continuing Professional Education Department. Educational, age-appropriate content will be shared by Mercy College faculty with the assistance of selected Mercy College students or recent graduates. Call 419-251-1799 for more information.
