SCRABBLE fundraiser benefits Literacy Council

LIMA—The fourth annual “SCRABBLE Word-Building for Literacy,” a fundraiser that benefits the Northwest Ohio Literacy Council, is from noon to 5 p.m. Feb. 7 at Rhodes State College Keese Hall at 4240 Campus Dr. in Lima.

Teams of two to four players play four 45-minute rounds. There is a $35 entry fee and community teams can earn up to 500 bonus points at one point per $1 sponsorship submitted at registration.  

Special contest categories include:

B4: Battle of the Businesses — Teams of three to six players from businesses vie for a traveling trophy. The entry fee is $150 and B4 teams can earn up to 750 bonus points at one point per $1 sponsorship submitted at registration.

Head-2-Head — Individuals play alone for the SCRABBLE crown. There is a $10 entry fee for this division. Registrations are taken the day of the event.

There are many ways to support the event including corporate sponsorships, round sponsorships, room sponsorships and program advertisements.
