OREGON—The Little Sisters of the Poor host their annual Family Fun Festival July 19th from noon to 5 p.m. at Sacred Heart Home for the Elderly, 930 S. Wynn Road in Oregon.
A highlight of the festival, which features man’s best friend, is the ever-popular Pooch Parade at 4 p.m. Participants can walk their costumed dogs for $5 each or enter a float made out of a cart or wagon for $10. The festival also offers a Pooch Party Store, Doggie Day Care and the famous “Nun-Better” dog biscuits made by the sisters, residents and staff of Sacred Heart Home.
Activities for the rest of the family include an art and craft fair, music by Cruisin’ Zeake and His Oldies Machine, children’s games, food and more. Tickets for the summer raffle are $5 each, 6 for $25 or 12 for $50, and the grand prize is $1,000.
All proceeds of the Family Fun Festival help the Little Sisters continue their work of caring for the elderly poor in northwest Ohio.
