Priest-chefs help Little Sisters raise funds

MAUMEE—The Little Sisters of the Poor are hosting a unique event May 12th as part of their 125th anniversary celebration.

“Celebrity Chefs at the Pinnacle” promises to be an event like none the Toledo area has seen before as 10 priests from the Diocese of Toledo serve as “celebrity chefs” for the evening. These chefs are to prepare and serve a variety of foods to an expected attendance of more than 300 invited guests.

Participating in the event are:
• Father Michael Billian, diocesan episcopal vicar and moderator of the curia;
• Father Dennis Metzger, pastor of Sylvania St. Joseph and dean of the St. Luke Deanery;
• Father Marvin Borger, pastor of Perrysburg St. Rose;
• Father Gregory Hite, pastor of Toledo St. Joan of Arc and dean of the St. Katharine Drexel Deanery;
• Father William Kubacki, diocesan vicar for priests;
• Father Charles Singler, diocesan director of the Office of Worship & Liturgical Music and rector of Toledo Rosary Cathedral;
• Father David Reinhart, pastor of Bono Our Lady of Mount Carmel and president of the Kateri Catholic School System;
• Father Joseph Weigman, chaplain at Sacred Heart Home;
• Father Robert Wilhelm, a senior status priest of the diocese; and
• Father Daniel Zak, pastor of Swanton St. Richard.

The three-hour event starts at 6 p.m. and all proceeds benefit the Sacred Heart Home of the Little Sisters of the Poor.
