Cathedral Concert Series lineup announced

TOLEDO—A variety of ensembles and soloists are scheduled to participate in the 2010-11 Cathedral Concert Series at Toledo Rosary Cathedral.

The series brings together fine musicians and the magnificent atmosphere of the cathedral for the enjoyment of audiences.

Oct. 6, 7:30 p.m.: Apollo’s Fire (The Cleveland Baroque Orchestra) performs Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610. A preconcert lecture begins at 6:45 p.m. For tickets, call 419-246-8000.

Nov. 14, 3 p.m.: This free concert features the Toledo Diocesan Choir and chamber orchestra, along with the Heidelberg University Concert Choir as they perform Franz Schubert’s Mass in G major.

Dec. 5, 3 p.m.: The annual Advent Lessons and Carols is a free program that features the Cathedral Choir.

Jan. 30, 3 p.m.: “A Journey Through The Life Of African-Americans” with soprano Margaret Barron is offered at no cost.

March 6, 4 p.m.: The Toledo Symphony Orchestra performs Bruckner’s Symphony No. 4. Tickets are available by calling 419-246-8000.

March 26: 8 p.m.: Masterworks Chorale performs under the direction of Donna Tozer-Wipfli. Tickets may be ordered by calling 419-242-2787.

April 20, 7:30 p.m.: The Tenebrae service features the Cathedral Choir in this free program.

May 13, 7:30 p.m.: A free concert by organist Adam Brakel.
