TOLEDO—Toledo native Todd Wilson is scheduled to perform an organ concert at Toledo Rosary Cathedral at 7 p.m. July 7 on the historic E.M. Skinner pipe organ. The concert is free and open to the public as part of the Cathedral Concert Series.
Mr. Wilson’s concert is one event of the week-long Organ Historical Society National Convention that is headquartered in Cleveland. The concert includes works by Dupré, Widor and Franck among others. The famous organ arrangement of “Londonderry Air” by Edwin Lemare is also included. Soprano Nanette Canfield joins Mr. Wilson for “Les Angélus” by Louis Vierne.
Mr. Wilson is on the faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music and a well-known concert organist. During his high school years he received organ lessons from longtime cathedral organist Hugh Murray. His last concert at the cathedral was in 1989 and he recorded a CD on the organ in 1998 that was dedicated to the memory of Hugh Murray.
The Cathedral is located at 2535 Collingwood Blvd., at Islington Avenue. Secured parking is available. For more information, contact Rosary Cathedral at 419-244-9575.
