TOLEDO—Anne McCarthy, a senior at Toledo Central Catholic High School, is to receive the University of Michigan Trophy Award for displaying outstanding scholastic, athletic and leadership abilities.

Each year, the University of Michigan Club of Toledo recognizes one graduating senior from each Toledo area high school with this award. The students are to receive certificates of recognition at a noon luncheon May 14 at the Toledo Club.

Anne is a member of the Lady Irish volleyball, basketball and track teams.  As a junior, she helped the volleyball team win the Division II state championship and represented the Irish at the state track meet in Columbus in the 800-meter run. She carries a cumulative grade point average of 4.71 and scored a 33 on her ACT.  She plans to attend the University of Notre Dame in the fall and participate in its track program.
