TOLEDO—Three Central Catholic High School (CCHS) students were honored at the Old Newsboys Goodfellow Association’s annual dinner Dec. 1.

CCHS seniors Katie Walton and Bobby Woodcock were each awarded a $5,000 academic scholarship by the Old Newsboys Association. The scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and a goal to achieve.

Ms. Walton plans to attend the University of Toledo or Lourdes College and major in child development.

Ms. Woodcock has applied to four different colleges and plans to major in environmental studies.

Senior Brad Rogers, a member of the Fighting Irish football team, was named one of three finalists for the Old Newsboys Athlete of the Year award.  Each week during the regular high school football season, sports media panelists vote for a Player of the Week, and the top four were invited to the annual banquet. Brad plans to attend the University of Iowa.
