Concert features Ann Corrigan, Tina Bunce

TOLEDO—The Cathedral Concert Series presents soprano Ann Corrigan and mezzo-soprano Tina Bunce in a concert of vocal duets by Vivaldi, Purcell, Mendelssohn and Bach at 3 p.m. Feb. 22 at Toledo Rosary Cathedral.

The “Gloria” by celebrated 20th century American composer Ned Rorem concludes the concert. Vocalists are to be assisted by Annie Corrigan, oboe; Kevin Bylsma, piano; and Mark Koehl, organ.

Ms. Corrigan is an active performer specializing in chamber music, the French mélodie and oratorio. She is in demand as an oratorio soloist, appearing in such works as Honegger’s “King David,” Duruflé’s “Requiem,” Brahms’ “Requiem,” Handel’s “Messiah” and Mendelssohn’s “St. Paul.” She is on the faculty at Bowling Green State University College of Musical Arts.

Ms. Bunce has garnered a reputation, both here and abroad, for her rich mezzo voice, musicality and astounding versatility of repertoire. Primarily known for her work in oratorio and on the concert stage, she is a proponent of the music of our time. Ms. Bunce has made numerous appearances at a number of New Music festivals in Ohio and New York. She is voice coordinator for the Creative Arts Program and publicity/publications manager for the Bowling Green State University College of Musical Arts.

The concert is free and open to the public. A free will offering to support the concert series will be taken. Ample parking is available at the cathedral, located at 2535 Collingwood Blvd.
