TOLEDO—Toledo Central Catholic High School present its Festival of the Lively Arts and spring open house from 5 to 7 p.m. April 30 at the school, 2550 Cherry St.
The evening culminates with the music department’s spring concert at 7 p.m. The Lady Irish softball team is offering a spaghetti dinner in the senior cafeteria from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., featuring spaghetti, salad, bread and beverages. The price is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
The Festival of the Lively Arts features award-winning student artwork and an art silent auction, along with piano, dance team and Gospel Choir performances. Other activities taking place at the celebration include one-act plays performed by students, poetry on the sidewalks, student demonstrations of multi-media technology, tours of the Kranz S.P.A.C.E. Room, which houses the lunar sample, a book exchange, and a Quidditch tournament on the school’s front lawn. Quidditch is a fictitious “wizarding” sport played on broomsticks and is the most popular game among wizards in the series of Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling.
The spring concert features performances by the CCHS Glee Club, Mixed Chorus, String Orchestra and Concert Band, as well as a preview of the CCHS spring musical production of “Hello Dolly!”
Visitors also have an opportunity to tour the school and facilities and learn about Central Catholic’s academic programs, athletics and extracurricular activities. The CCHS admissions team, guidance department, spiritual commission and athletic department personnel are to be on hand to answer visitors’ questions.
Admission to the Festival of the Lively Arts and Spring Open House is free and all are welcome.
