TOLEDO—Enrollment continues to grow at the Toledo campus of Mercy College of Northwest Ohio. The College has another record-setting fall enrollment of 833 students, an increase of 17 percent over last year.

Shelly McCoy Grissom Ph.D., chief admissions officer of the college, cites a number of factors that together have contributed to the dramatic increase in students.

“In the last year Mercy College began a First-Time College Student Scholarship as well as offering $99 per credit hour tuition for the ‘A B C’ pre-requisite courses (algebra, biology and chemistry). Both initiatives have been successful. And as part of the Mercy Health Partners system, we continue to have access to the area’s leading health care facilities so our students don’t have lengthy waits to begin the clinical component of their degree programs.”

John F. Hayward, president of the college, notes Mercy’s tuition is one of the lowest in the nation among private colleges.

“With students having many options to choose from, we are pleased that they see us as a great value for their educational dollar,” he says.
