TOLEDO—The Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center Foundation is sponsoring its annual “A Night to Remember” fundraiser beginning at 6 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Valentine Theatre in downtown Toledo.

Following dinner and a silent auction, guests will be entertained with a live auction and concert featuring Dennis DeYoung: the music of STYX.

Mr. DeYoung is to perform acoustic renditions of such classics as “Lady,” “Babe,” “Come Sail Away,” “Mr. Roboto” and more, including solo works and new music.

Event chairs are Lynn and Ralph Than and the honorary chair is Mary Anne Lenkay.

Net proceeds from the event are used to support the mission of the medical center, which is “to extend the healing ministry of Jesus by improving the health of our communities with an emphasis on the people who are poor and underserved.” Funding is to support mission-based programs such as:

• The Marguerite D’Youville Program, which provides patients and their families assistance during times of crisis. In 2008 more than 5,000 patients and their families received assistance with rent, transportation, medication, utilities, food and clothing.

• Senior Outreach, which provides in-home interventions to seniors who have chronic illness and are at-risk of repeated, preventable emergency room and hospital admissions due to a wide range of social and economic problems that make it difficult to manage their illness.

• Hospitality Van Service transportation for outpatient services to those who are low-income and elderly and lack the ability to travel on their own.

Gold or platinum tickets can be purchased by calling the Mercy St. Vincent Foundation at 419-251-2117 or by visiting the foundation website, www.svmmcfoundation.org.
