TOLEDO—The production of a play written by a local man is to benefit Women Blessing Women, a ministry of the Diocese of Toledo.
Women Blessing Women is an outreach of the Diocese of Toledo to empower women to achieve their potential, obtain living-wage jobs and break the cycle of poverty.
The play, “The Ladies of Harmony,” was written by Ron Hill, is directed by John DuVall and performed by Anne Cross, Gloria Moulopoulos, Carol Ann Erford, Barbara Barkan, Pat Rudes and Shirley Williams.
The plot tells the story of a group of six women who meet at a local church to plan the funeral dinner for one of the town’s less popular residents. Unknown to them, the church’s janitor has spiked their coffee with something beyond their moral taste, and before long these usually private and stoic ladies are sharing opinions unbecoming of proper church-going women!
The show begins at 4 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Collingwood Arts Center in Toledo.
Tickets are $25 per person and can be obtained at www.collingwoodartscenter.org or by calling the box office at 1-800-838-3006.
