TOLEDO—Six Toledo Central Catholic High School (CCHS) athletes signed national letters of intent for college Feb. 4. This included five members of the Fighting Irish football team and a member of the Lady Irish cross country and track teams.

Eric Bates, a football cornerback, committed to Tiffin University. While at CCHS, he earned honors as First Team All-City defensive back, First Team All-District defensive back and Special Mention All-State. He had 22 total tackles and three interceptions on defense.
Kelly Karcher , a cross country and track athlete, committed to Mississippi State University. At CCHS, she was First Team All-City in cross country, City League cross country MVP and 2008 City League cross country champion with a time of 19:18.
Michael Marrow, a running back and linebacker on the football team, committed to the University of Alabama. At Central, he earned First Team All-City running back and linebacker, First Team All-District running back and Special Mention All-State. He rushed for 893 yards and 11 touchdowns and had 56 total tackles on defense.
David Pickerel, a football linebacker, committed to Tiffin University. He was a First Team All-City linebacker, First Team All-District linebacker and Special Mention All-State. He chalked up 84 total tackles on defense.
Brad Rogers, football running back and linebacker, committed to the University of Iowa. At CCHS he earned Honorable Mention All-City and All-District. He rushed for 471 yards and six touchdowns on offense and had 51 total tackles on defense.
Doug Williams, offensive tackle and defensive tackle on the football team, committed to the University of Findlay. He was First Team All-City offensive lineman and Second Team All-District offensive lineman. He made 29 total tackles on defense.
To date, CCHS athletes have earned $800,000 in college scholarships.
