TOLEDO—Toledo Central Catholic High School presents its 81st spring musical, “The Sound of Music,” April 16-18 at the Valentine Theatre in downtown Toledo.

Senior Katherine Kraus plays the role of Maria, and junior Devon Desmond is Captain Georg von Trapp.

The Sound of Music was the final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein and has become one of the world’s most beloved musicals. The story focuses on Maria, a postulant who proves too high-spirited for the religious life. She is dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval captain who runs his home like a battleship. Maria teaches the children how to play, to sing and to enjoy life as children and gradually captures the heart of the stern captain.

Show times are 8 p.m. April 16, 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. April 17 and 3 p.m. April 18. Ticket prices range from $10 to $14 and are available at Central Catholic in room 105 until April 15. Tickets may also be ordered online at www.centralcatholic.org or by calling 419-255-2280, ext. 1137.
