BLUFFTON—Bluffton University’s music department presents its 113th production of “Messiah” at 4 p.m. Dec. 7 in Founders Hall. The performance is free and open to the public, though a free-will offering will be taken.
The performance of “Messiah” during the Advent season is a long-standing tradition at Bluffton University. The performance had been held during the Easter and Christmas seasons but now is specifically dedicated to the annual celebration of Christ’s birth.
The choir is made up of 85 members and includes Bluffton University students, faculty, staff and community members from Findlay, Lima, Ada, Pandora and Bluffton. The singers are accompanied by a chamber orchestra composed of 20 instrumentalists.
Soloists are Michelle Latour, soprano; Cynthia Lincoln, alto; Thomas Rowell, alto; and Charles Turley, bass.
