Five new priests to be ordained May 30

TOLEDO—Bishop Leonard P. Blair is to ordain five priests for the Diocese of Toledo during a Mass at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral May 30 at 11 a.m.

The candidates for the priesthood are Deacon Christopher G. Bohnsack, Deacon Jason J. Kahle, Deacon Kishore Kottana, Deacon Eric L. Mueller and Deacon Anthony L. Recker.

Deacon Bohnsack, 40, of Toledo St. Thomas Aquinas is the son of Charles and Marcia Bohnsack. A graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas School and Cardinal Stritch High School, he holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Bowling Green State University and earned his Master of Divinity degree from Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary of the West in Cincinnati.

Deacon Kahle, 29, of Kalida St. Michael is the son of Michael and Lucy Kahle. A graduate of Kalida Elementary and Kalida High School, he holds a bachelor’s degree in science and industrial design from The Ohio State University and earned his Master’s of Divinity from Mount St. Mary’s Seminary of the West.

Deacon Kottana, 44, is the son of Johnes Kottana and Santha Kumari Kottana and a native of Visakhapatnam, India, where he belonged to St. Peter’s Cathedral Parish. Deacon Kottana holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a master’s degree in theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome.

Deacon Mueller, 32, of Landeck St. John the Baptist is the son of Ralph and Geraldine Mueller. After graduating from Landeck Elementary School and Delphos St. John High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental and hazardous materials management from the University of Findlay and a Master of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Toledo. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Saint Meinrad School of Theology.

Deacon Recker, 32, of Napoleon St. Augustine is the son of Jane and the late Louis Recker, who served as a permanent deacon for the Diocese of Toledo. A graduate of Napoleon St. Augustine and Napoleon High School, Deacon Recker holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Franciscan University, a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Toledo College of Medicine (formerly Medical College of Ohio) and a Master of Divinity degree from Mount St. Mary’s Seminary of the West.
