Jesuit Father David C. Bayne of Toledo died April 8. Born Jan. 11, 1918, to David C. and Myrtle (Murray) Bayne of Detroit. Fr. Bayne attended Campion Jesuit High School in Prairie du Chien, Wis., and entered the Society of Jesus in 1941. He was ordained in 1952 and professed his final vows in 1961. He served the University of Detroit Law School as a faculty member, then as its dean from 1958-1960. He also taught at St. Louis University Law School, the University of Iowa College of Law and the University of Michigan Law School. Fr. Bayne was a preeminent authority in the fields of corporate control, securities regulation and moral theology. He was predeceased by his parents and is survived by several cousins and many former students, colleagues and close friends around the world.
