The Rev. August Schaefer Endowment Fund is accepting grant requests for liturgical projects scheduled to begin after November 2009 at parishes and Catholic institutions in the Diocese of Toledo.

Parishes and institutions that have financial difficulty are encouraged to apply. Grant applications can be obtained through Aug. 6 by sending a written request to:

Rev. August Schaefer Endowment Fund, c/o Carol Robertson, grant administrator, 113 James St., Marblehead, OH 43440.

Grant funds come from an endowment created from the estate of Fr. Schaefer, the pastor of Marblehead St. Joseph from 1930-1955. Grants are particularly meant to fund efforts that allow “all the faithful to be led to that full, conscious and active participation in liturgical celebrations which is demanded by the very nature of the liturgy” (#14 Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy).

Six projects were funded last December, and $7,000 is to be awarded this December. Call Carol Robertson or Judy Just at 419-798-4177 with questions.
