TOLEDO—Beginning in February, Hospice of Northwest Ohio is offering “Pathways — A Spiritual Journey of Grief.”

This group, for adults of any faith, meets Tuesdays from 4-5:30 p.m. at Hospice of Northwest Ohio’s Toledo Center, from Feb. 3 through March 10. Facilitated by Hospice Chaplain Ruth Cunning, topics include “Moving Forward,” “Cultivating Community,” “Waiting,” “Releasing” and “Pain, People, Pathways.”

“Pathways is a sacred journey of the heart,” says Ms. Cunning. “It is a safe place to explore and discover spiritual principles and guidelines that will help you heal and move forward. Know this,” she adds. “You can’t move forward if you’re looking back!

“It’s good to remember the past; it’s okay to reflect on the past; but it’s not good to regress and dwell in the past,” reflects the chaplain. “The difference lies in the focus of your remembrance.”

The support group is free and open to any adult in the community who would like to discuss, learn more about and work through the spiritual aspects of grief; whether or not they have had a previous relationship with Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

Group size is limited and advance registration is required. To learn more about the group, or to register, call Ms. Cunning at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 419-661-4001.

The Toledo Hospice Center is located at 800 South Detroit Ave., near Arlington. For more information about grief and loss, visit www.hospicenwo.org.
