Human trafficking program sponsored by STOP

SYLVANIA—Stop Trafficking of Persons (STOP), a coalition of religious sisters of the Toledo Diocese and other professionals presents “Human Trafficking — Contemporary Slavery” March 23 at Rosary Care Center on the campus of the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, 6832 Convent Blvd.

The program is to be presented twice, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Presenters are Kathleen Davis, author of the Polaris Project report “Human Trafficking and Modern-Day Slavery in Ohio,” Detective Pete Swartz of the FBI’s Northwest Ohio Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force and Special Agent Jake Hardie, the coordinator of the task force, which focuses on juvenile prostitution and other human trafficking matters involving children.
