As hundreds of youth and adults from across the diocese head to the annual March for Life Jan. 22 in Washington, D.C., other groups are planning local events to pray for an end to abortion on the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
The Helpers of God’s Precious Infants are to hold a prayer vigil for life Jan. 22. Mass is to be celebrated at Toledo Rosary Cathedral at 6 p.m., followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament during which some members of the congregation drive to nearby Center for Choice abortion clinic to pray the rosary until approximately 8 p.m.
All are invited to return to the cathedral for Benediction and refreshments. For more information call 419-878-0486 or visit www.helpers-nwo.org.
A March for Life in Defiance begins at noon Jan. 22 at the courthouse and ends at the monument for the unborn in front of Defiance St. John. The parish also hosts a Mass for life at 9 a.m. followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament ending with Benediction at 6 p.m.
An annual Right to Life March begins at 3 p.m. Jan. 18 at Maumee St. Joseph, 104 W. Broadway St. Participants may pray in church or pray the rosary as they march to St. Joseph cemetery for a short service.
