STEUBENVILLE, Ohio—Students for Life of America, Students for Life of Ohio and Ohio Right-to-Life are hosting the annual Students for Life Ohio Conference April 4 at Franciscan University of Steubenville.

This conference gathers student pro-life groups from the state of Ohio as well as portions of West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

“Students in some colleges today face harsh opposition from their professors and administration to host pro-life events on campuses,” says Emily Espinola, vice president of Students For Life. “This conference gives strategies on the best ways to promote the pro-life message and work with administrators.”

The conference focuses on some of the leading threats to human life today — abortion, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia and other human life issues. Since the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) has been shelved, the conference is to inform on related legislation that continues to threaten human life.

Presenters include Catholic pro-life author Kimberly Hahn and Steve Wagner, the director of Justice for All, a group that focuses on building common ground with pro-choice people. Other pro-life speakers include representatives from Students for Life of America and the Susan B. Anthony List, a pro-life group that empowers women working in the political field and pro-life arena.

The conference is open to anyone interested in the pro-life cause; attendance is not limited to college students.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. Cost is $10 for early online registration and $15 the day of the event. Registration forms and conference schedules are available by e-mailing ohiosflconference@gmail.com.

Ohio Right to Life is providing up to 100 free registrations to assist Ohio college pro-life students. It is also providing free $25 gas cards to the first 25 individuals to respond who are going to drive 150 miles or more to attend the conference. For information, e-mail life@ohiolife.org.
