Dolly and Richard Flasck were honored for their service to Mobile Meals of Toledo, and their commitment to St. John’s Jesuit High School; Lourdes College; Double Arc, an organization supporting children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders; and for their mission work in Haiti. The Flascks are outstanding volunteers who, through their actions, foster meaningful relationships with the less fortunate. The Flascks are passionate about their concern for others and they have generously shared their blessings to make the world a better place.

The evening program also included guest speakers from the recent “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” project in Toledo. In a presentation titled “Extreme Faith,” Aaron and Jackie Frisch, who received a new home, and Tim Schlachter and Mike White, principals of The Buckeye Real Estate Group and lead builders for the project, shared their respective experiences regarding this major community initiative.

The Servant Leadership Center’s purpose is to prepare and support individuals and organizations as servant leaders, empowering ordinary people through individual, collective, and systemic efforts that enable them to achieve extraordinary things to create a better world.

Since Tiffin Franciscan Sister Nancy Westmeyer and retired Bishop Albert Ottenweller founded the center in 2000, it has trained more than 100 Christian leaders through its 10-month personal development and empowerment program. This ecumenical program is open to people of all faiths.

Servant Leadership focuses on the power of the spirit and mind through prayer; understanding the power of God; identifying and limiting negativity that hinders success; recognizing the call of God to service; tapping the creative force and positive power within each individual; and exploring the value of community and making a positive impact on today’s world.

The Servant Leadership Center serves northwest Ohio including Toledo, Defiance, Swanton and Delphos.
