Can we give thanks to God and be delighted at the coming Easter Vigil over the hundreds of folks joining us in the Catholic Church of the Diocese of Toledo and the thousands throughout the U.S. without giving praise to the laity serving on the RCIA (Right of Christian Initiation of Adults) parish groups? It should also remind us to give thanks for Pope John XXIII calling the Second Vatican Council that opened the door for such leadership and commitment.

As we look forward to the special celebration of Eucharist on Holy Thursday, again, thanks to the introduction of extraordinary ministers of Eucharist, shut-ins and homebound folks receive the body and blood of our Savior often. In one parish, as many as 200 folks unable to attend Sunday Mass receive holy Communion. What a blessing! Thank you, Blessed John XXIII and the Vatican Council!
