TOLEDO—The Toledo Diocesan Choir is recruiting new members for the upcoming season.
The Toledo Diocesan Choir was formed in 2002 and is composed of choral singers and directors drawn from parishes in the diocese. Its primary role is to provide music for the major Pontifical liturgies at Toledo Rosary Cathedral.
The liturgical repertoire reflects the diversity of cultures found in the Diocese of Toledo as well as the traditional music of the Catholic liturgy. The choir also presents occasional concerts at the cathedral, including major works by Faure, Duruflé and Mozart. The May 2009 concert is to feature John Rutter’s Gloria among other works. Members of the choir have performed twice in Toledo, Spain.
Singers from all parishes are welcome. Those interested in auditioning should contact Paul Monachino, director, at 419- 244-7611. Further information, including the schedule of activities, can be found at www.toledodiocese-spl.org/Cathedral_Music_Ensembles.html.
