TOLEDO—Maury Collins is among the first recipients of the Tommy Makem Luminary Awards established by the Ohio Irish American News publication.

Mr. Collins has been instrumental in reviving the Northwest Ohio (Kelly Chapter) Ancient Order of Hibernians and in developing the two-day St. Patrick Day Festival in Toledo. He maintains the Web sites for both the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Irish American Club, creates promotional ads and maintains prayer pages.

“A lot of people helped me promote Irish heritage in the Toledo area over the last few years,” Mr. Collins says in a statement. “They are the reason I received this award.”
