The Giving Children and Teens Strong Foundations category has $2.4 million allocated to 40 programs that help children and teens develop strong foundations for meaningful and productive lives. This amount includes a renewed $25,000 investment in the Diocese of Toledo Catholic Charities’ Truancy Prevention program, with another $113,000 going to the Catholic Club’s school-age Club Care and Club Recreation programs.

From the $3.7 million in Empowering Vulnerable Families and Adults to Thrive funds, $43,000 has been allocated to Catholic Charities’ Family Emergency Guidance program. Another $25,000 goes to the La Posada Emergency Shelter to help provide temporary housing to homeless families with limited English proficiency.

Bill Kitson, president and CEO of United Way of Greater Toledo, commented, “We are pleased to be able to continue supporting the tremendous programs offered by Catholic Charities and the Catholic Club.”
