According to nuclear physicists, the sun uses approximately 1 percent of its mass every 3 1/2 billion years. Consequently our sun will provide the planet Earth with light, heat and the gravitational guidance that keeps us in orbit at just the perfect distance of approximately 93,000,000 million miles from it for another 10 billion years or more.

The above are merely scientific facts, however they point out not only the longevity of our universe, gifted to us by the Man upstairs, they also imply the need for stewardship, so that future generations can enjoy the planet Earth over the next 10 billion years just as much as we do today.

Likewise the above facts imply that it truly behooves us to keep all the Earth’s nuclear warheads locked away safely so that none can be used to contaminate our beautiful planet. Also, this nuclear power may some day be needed to prevent asteroids from damaging our planet’s environment as they did in the past when an asteroid hit our planet and terminated the dinosaurs.

Thanks to Jesus every human being on the planet Earth has one foot inside the golden gate. This is truly a great bargain for everyone and is even more fulfilling if we recognize this fact and help Jesus get the other foot headed in the right direction and then just keep walking with the goodness of God.

Jesus was a good teacher. His most important lesson was “Love thy neighbor as thyself for the love of God,” and Jesus implied that the best way to do this is to use your “golden coins” (your God-given gifts) wisely.
