As a Catholic Christian, I find it irresponsible for us to sit back and not speak up about health care for the underserved and underprivileged. We must raise our voices to ensure basic human care for the most vulnerable in our communities. The individuals that most need health care are those too sick to work, but not covered under current Medicare regulations; or those that work but aren’t covered by their employers and can’t afford to buy private coverage. Children, the poor, the ill: these are the people Jesus instructed us to serve. Let us contact our officials and support programs that insure all, so everyone can enjoy basic health care.
