75 years Sister Mary Susanne Wenninger, of Toledo St. Mary professed Aug. 13, 1934. She taught at Toledo schools St. James, Sacred Heart, Gesu, St. Louis, St. Ann and St. Michael and at Fremont St. Joseph, Norwalk St. Mary and St. Paul, Leipsic St. Mary, Maumee St. Joseph, Fostoria St. Wendelin, Delphos John the Evangelist, Napoleon St. Augustine and Bellevue Immaculate Conception. She served as principal at Norwalk St. Mary and Toledo St. Michael. She also served as a nurse’s aide and ministered in community service at Lial convent, Whitehouse. She currently resides at the Provincial Center.
70 years Sister Mary Cyprian Kemper, from Fort Recovery St. Joseph, professed Aug. 16, 1939. She served as a cook, seamstress and a laundress in many convents in Toledo: St. Louis, St. Mary, Gesu, the Provincial Center and Notre Dame Academy. In addition, she served at Crestline St. Joseph, Monroeville St. Joseph, Bethlehem Sacred Heart, Delphos St. John, Fostoria St. Wendelin, Norwalk St. Paul, Sandusky St. Mary, Fremont St. Joseph and Lial convent. She currently resides in the Provincial Center.
Sister Mary Virginia Wenninger, from Toledo St. Mary, professed Aug. 16, 1939. She taught at Toledo Sacred Heart, St. Michael, Ladyfield, Monroeville St. Joseph, St. Michael’s Ridge St. Michael, Sandusky St. Mary, Bellevue Immaculate Conception, Leipsic St. Mary, Norwalk St. Mary, Marygrove Immaculate Conception and Delphos St. John. She was a missionary to Papua New Guinea serving as teacher and pastoral minister. Sr. Wenninger also served in parish and community service at Lial convent, Port Clinton Immaculate Conception and the Provincial Center. Now she is in residence and serves the parish community at Leipsic St. Mary.
65 Years Sister Mary Annunciata Sutter, from Bethlehem Sacred Heart (Shelby Settlement), professed Aug. 16, 1944. She taught at Toledo schools St. Ann, St. Mary and Ladyfield and at Norwalk St. Paul. She was principal of Sandusky St. Mary, Delphos St. John, Norwalk St. Paul High School, Fort Wayne St. Jude, Monroeville St. Joseph and Ladyfield, and assistant principal at Notre Dame Academy. Sr. Sutter was supervisor of schools for the Diocese of Toledo and worked at the Diocesan School Office on government programs. She assisted at Holy Rosary, Mary Immaculate School and Maria Child Care Center in Toledo and at Genoa Our Lady of Lourdes. She is now in residence at the Provincial Center.
60 Years Sister Margaret Marie Wagner, formerly Sister Mary Gilbert, from Fremont St. Joseph, professed Aug. 16, 1949. She ministered in community service in Toledo at St. Louis, St. Mary, Notre Dame Academy and the Provincial Center as well as Bethlehem Sacred Heart, Fostoria St. Wendelin, Maumee St. Joseph, Norwalk St. Paul, Leipsic St. Mary, St. Michael’s Ridge St. Michael, Sandusky St. Mary, Fremont St. Joseph and Lial convent. Currently she ministers in community service at the Provincial Center.
Sister Mary Joetta Sneider, from Toledo St. Teresa, professed Aug. 16, 1949. She taught at Toledo schools St. Benedict, Gesu, Christ the King, St. James and Notre Dame Academy and at Delphos St. John, Sandusky St. Mary, Fostoria St. Wendelin, Bellevue Immaculate Conception and Norwalk St. Paul High School. She served as assistant provincial treasurer for the Toledo Province and in parish ministry at Fremont St. Joseph. Currently she assists in parish outreach at Gibsonburg St. Michael.
Sister Mary Damian Meng, of Genoa Our Lady of Lourdes, professed vows Aug. 16, 1949. She taught at Toledo schools St. Michael, St. James, St. Mary, St. Benedict, and Sacred Heart and at Monroeville St. Joseph, Defiance St. Michael, Sandusky St. Mary, St. Michael’s Ridge St. Michael, Delphos St. John and Fremont St. Joseph. She served 21 years as a nurse at the Notre Dame Health Care Center. She now assists in school and parish ministry in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Sister Mary Johnita Elwer, from Delphos St. John professed Aug. 16, 1949. She taught at Toledo schools St. Michael, St. James, Holy Rosary, Sacred Heart and Mary Immaculate and at Maumee St. Joseph, Fremont St. Joseph, Sandusky St. Mary, Marygrove Immaculate Conception, Norwalk St. Paul, Delphos St. John, Leipsic St. Mary and Fostoria St. Wendelin. She is now involved in community service at the Notre Dame Provincial Center.
50 Years Sister Arlene Marie Hoffman, formerly Sister Mary Bernerd, from Toledo St. Charles, professed Aug. 11, 1959. She assisted at Ladyfield and Gesu in Toledo before serving the community as seamstress at the Provincial Center. She also served in community service at parishes in Michigan, Florida and at the Lial Renewal Center and convent in Whitehouse. Now she is in community service at the Provincial Center.
Sister Mary Regeen Ulrich, from Toledo Blessed Sacrament, professed Aug. 11, 1959. She taught at Toledo schools Gesu, Christ the King and St. Mary and at Norwalk St. Paul. She served in parish ministry at Toledo Christ the King and Toledo St. Pius X. She now is in art enrichment at Harbor House and Aurora House shelter for women and resides at the Provincial Center in Toledo.
Sister Mary Bryan Gabel, from Fremont St. Joseph, professed Aug. 11, 1959. She taught at Toledo schools St. Mary, Sacred Heart, Christ the King, St. Ann and Mary Immaculate and at Maumee St. Joseph, Marygrove Immaculate Conception, Leipsic St. Mary and Bellevue Immaculate Conception. She was a principal at Marygrove Immaculate Conception, Toledo Sacred Heart, Toledo Christ the King and in Florida. Now she is in community service at the Provincial Center.
Sister Mary Mara Bennett, from Toledo St. Hyacinth, professed Aug. 11, 1959. She taught at Toledo schools St. Ann, Gesu and St. James and at Sandusky St. Mary, Bellevue Immaculate Conception, Marygrove Immaculate Conception, Fostoria St. Wendelin, Norwalk St. Mary and in Indiana and Illinois. She was a principal of Norwalk St. Mary and in Indiana and assistant principal at Fostoria St. Wendelin. She now serves as a paraprofessional at Lial Catholic School in Whitehouse, and resides at Notre Dame Academy.
Sister Marilyn Kay Borer, formerly Sister Mary Boniface, from Fostoria St. Wendelin, professed vows Aug. 11, 1959. She taught in Toledo schools St. James and St. Ann, Fremont St. Joseph, Sandusky St. Mary, Delphos St. John, Norwalk St. Paul and Monroeville St. Joseph. She was layout and design artist, project manager and mailing manager for the development office and co-director for the associate program of the Toledo Province. Now she ministers in community service at the Provincial Center.
Sister Mary Lucille Kime, from St. Michael’s Ridge St. Michael, professed Aug. 11, 1959. She taught at Toledo Ladyfield, Toledo St. Ann, Sandusky St. Mary, Maumee St. Joseph, Napoleon St. Augustine, Delphos St. John High School, Sandusky St. Mary High School, Fremont St. Joseph High School and Toledo Central Catholic High School. Her experience in parish ministry includes Sandusky St. Mary, Gibsonburg St. Michael, Paulding St. Joseph, Sandusky Holy Angels and in Michigan. She also served the Diocese of Toledo in the permanent diaconate office and as interim director of catechetical ministry. She now serves as pastoral leader of Put-In-Bay Mother of Sorrows and Kelleys Island St. Michael.
Sister Mary Barbra Ostheimer, from Sandusky St. Mary, professed Aug. 11, 1959. She taught at Toledo Ladyfield, Toledo Christ the King, Bellevue Immaculate Conception, Delphos St. John, Toledo Notre Dame Academy and the Notre Dame College of Ohio Extension Branch in Toledo. She served the community as formation director, director of aspirants, postulants, novices and temporary professed sisters of the Toledo Province and was provincial assistant. She also was director of Spiritual Life Ministries at Lial in Whitehouse before traveling to Rome to direct the UISG Program for the Formation of Formators. She now serves as associate director at Loyola Institute for Spirituality in Orange, Calif.
Sister Mary Jesse Thompson, from Toledo St. Michael, professed Aug. 11, 1959. She taught at Toledo schools St. James, Gesu and Ladyfield and Maumee St. Joseph, Fremont St. Joseph and Sandusky St. Mary. She was principal at Toledo St. James, Lial Catholic School and Monroeville St. Joseph. She also served the Toledo Province as aspirant directress and provincial secretary. Now she teaches at Lial Catholic School.
Sister Mary Dale Burgard, from Erie, Mich., professed Aug. 11, 1959. She taught at Toledo schools Gesu, Ladyfield and Mary Immaculate and at Fremont Sacred Heart, Sandusky St. Mary, Delphos St. John, Marygrove Immaculate Conception, Maumee St. Joseph, Bellevue Immaculate Conception, and in Florida and Indiana. She was principal at Marygrove Immaculate Conception and Toledo St. Ann. She served as community coordinator for the Provincial Center and Lial convent. Now she ministers at Toledo Mary Immaculate School.
Sister Mary Ralph Gerdeman, formerly Sister Mary St. Ralph, from Delphos St. John, professed Aug. 11, 1959. She taught at Toledo schools St. Mary, Gesu, Notre Dame Academy and Central Catholic High School and at Sandusky St. Mary High School and Norwalk St. Paul High School. Since 1974 she has served the Toledo Province as pharmacist in the Notre Dame Health Care Center.
Sister Mary de Porres Westrick, from Toledo St. Charles, professed Aug. 11, 1959. She taught at Toledo St. Ann, Toledo Holy Rosary, Fremont St. Joseph, Bellevue Immaculate Conception, Marygrove Immaculate Conception and Sandusky St. Mary. She served in parish ministry at Sandusky Holy Angels and has taught and was in administration in various educational institutes in Papua New Guinea, where she currently serves.
25 years Sister LaReine-Marie Mosely, from New Rochelle, N.Y., professed June 18, 1984. She taught at Toledo Ladyfield, Toledo St. Mary, Fremont Sacred Heart, Toledo Notre Dame Academy and in Chicago. Currently she is assistant professor of Theology at Loyola University, Chicago.
