Members build friendships, enjoy social activities, enrich their spiritual life and serve their parishes and communities through CLC’s system of councils. The society has a representative form of government and convenes every four years to elect its officers and board of directors.

Sharon Calvelage of Bluffton Fort Jennings Council #88 was elected as president, Deborah Evers of Ottawa Glandorf Council #179 was elected vice president and Fairy Wagner of Upper Sandusky Council #86 was elected secretary. Board of directors elected include Harriet Amendola and Helen Rall of Upper Sandusky Council #86, Alice Teynor of Bucyrus Council #115 and Irene Borror of Columbus Council #95.

The 2009 President Karen Buckley’s Angel Awards were awarded to Karen Wischmeyer of Russells Point Council #217 for “Faith,” Alice Diemer of Glandorf Council #179 for “Hope,” Ethel Collins of the home office staff for “Friendship” and Velma Wehri of Delphos, Landeck Council #84 for “Charity.”

Receiving the CLC Fraternalist of the Year Award was Joan Peck of Kalida Council #134. Her name will be submitted to the National Fraternal Congress of America (NFCA) making her eligible for the title of “National Fraternalist of the Year." The winner will be announced at the NFCA's convention in September.

CLC members annually report more than 100,000 volunteer hours attending various council and society functions, assisting in community projects and participating in national days of service.

The NFCA has recognized CLC for its active participation in “Join Hands Day” and “Make a Difference Day” projects over the years. The society’s charitable efforts for these days and during the convention supported the Putnam County Cancer Task Force, through donations from area councils and individual donors for a silent auction, ticket sales and a CLC cookbook that was made from special recipes of the members. CLC presented a check to Joan Kline, Putman County Cancer Task Force, for nearly $4,000 for its efforts.

Upper Sandusky Council #86 will host the 2013 Convention.
