TOLEDO—The Center for Nonprofit Resources, a collaboration of The Community Partnership, Toledo Community Foundation and United Way of Greater Toledo, has awarded grants to three Toledo-area Catholic nonprofits.

Heartbeat of Toledo is to receive $6,500, the Padua Center, $10,000, and Servant Leadership Center, $700.

The award money is part of a grant the center is administering on behalf of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families Compassion Capital Fund Demonstration Program. The purpose of the grant is to focus on capacity building initiatives including organizational assessments and strategic planning, board and/or staff development, fund development planning, succession planning, external communications strategies, technology improvements, financial management systems, program evaluation and measurement and human resource policies and procedures to organizations that serve at-risk youth and/or individuals and families transitioning from welfare to work.
