TOLEDO—The First Thursday Dialogue luncheon series returns Sept. 3 with a talk on evangelization by Father Michael R. Billian.
Fr. Billian is the episcopal vicar, moderator of the curia and chancellor for the Diocese of Toledo. He has previously served as pastor of the Toledo Historic Church of St. Patrick; pastor, president and assistant principal for Toledo Central Catholic High School; parish chaplain for Toledo St. Louis; religious education consultant for Catholic Youth and School Services; and assistant principal and spiritual director for Fremont St. Joseph Central Catholic High School.
He has received numerous awards and is a member of various community groups including the American Red Cross, Legatus: Genesis Chapter, Farley Healthcare Corporation board of trustees, MAREDA and the Italian American Sports Club board of directors.
First Thursday Dialogue is a six-session luncheon series featuring prominent speakers addressing pressing social issues of the day. The series is funded by the Annual Catholic Appeal and sponsored by Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Deanery, Catholic Charities and the Secretariat for Pastoral Leadership.
All sessions are held at the Toledo Club from noon to 1:15 p.m. The cost is $15, which includes lunch, and financial assistance is available for those in need. Reservations are requested by Aug. 28; call 419-244-2711, ext. 515.
