Catholic Charismatic Renewal conference is Oct. 22-23

TOLEDO—The 28th Annual Holy Toledo Conference, sponsored by the Diocese of Toledo’s Ministry to Catholic Charismatic Renewal (MCCR), is scheduled for Oct. 22-23 at Rossford All Saints.

Bishop Leonard P. Blair is to give the opening address Friday evening and Father Jerry Nowakowksi, MCCR spiritual director, is to celebrate closing liturgy Saturday evening.

The conference theme is “Come Into His Light” and it features keynote speakers Maria Vadi and Bob Valiante and music by Servants in Song.

Ms. Vadia was born in Havana, and at age 10 she fled Cuba with her family to Miami. She is active in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of the Archdiocese of Miami and is a frequent speaker at conferences. In addition, Ms. Vadia is founder of the “Jesus is Lord” chapter of Magnificat and has traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad bringing a message of faith, salvation and healing. She is the author of several books and is the mother of four children.

Mr. Valiante’s involvement with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal spans 36 years. He is founder and coordinator of the Catholic Charismatic Conference of the Diocese of Scranton and is the associate liaison to the bishop for the renewal. He is a frequent speaker at conferences, retreats, missions and regional gatherings in the U.S. and other countries.
