TOLEDO—Hospice of Northwest Ohio is offering “Pathways — A Spiritual Journey of Grief” for seven consecutive Wednesdays from Feb. 3-March 17, 2010.
The group meets from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Hospice of Northwest Ohio’s Toledo Center. Facilitated by Hospice chaplain Ruth Cunning, the meetings are to include the topics of moving forward, cultivating community, waiting, releasing and pain, people and pathways.
“Pathways is a sacred journey of the heart,” says Ms. Cunning. “It is a safe place to explore and discover spiritual principles and guidelines that will help you heal and move forward.
“It’s good to remember the past; it’s okay to reflect on the past; but it’s not good to regress and dwell in the past,” she adds. “The difference lies in the focus of your remembrance. Come and journey with others who desire to walk this same ‘sacred journey’ with you.”
The group is free and open to any adult who would like to discuss, learn more about and work through the spiritual aspects of grief, regardless of whether they have had a previous relationship with Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Group size is limited and advance registration is required. To learn more or to register, call chaplain Ruth Cunning at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 419-661-4001 or 734-568-6801.
The Toledo Hospice Center is located at 800 South Detroit Avenue, near Arlington. For more information about grief and loss, visit www.hospicenwo.org.
