TOLEDO—Six local celebrities are putting their best feet forward Oct. 16 as Catholic Charities hosts its annual Dance Uncorked, an evening with wines, dance and silent auction items.

“Dance Uncorked is an opportunity for people to gather and have fun for a great cause — helping Catholic Charities serve 25,000 people throughout 19 counties in the Toledo Diocese,” says Rodney Schuster, Catholic Charities’ executive director. “We are also very thankful and fortunate to have so many volunteers who are committed and dedicated to helping make this a successful and enjoyable evening.”

The celebrities are teaming up with six professional dancers from The Dance Clinic to perform a routine for guests. Each pair is to perform one dance and is to be judged by the audience based on performance. Honorary co-chairs for this event are Frank Barone and Marianne Ballas — both celebrity dancers in 2009.

Celebrity dancers include Sam Zyndorf, principal at Signature Associates; Joe Schlageter, an attorney with Shindler, Neff, Homes, Schlageter & Mohler; Father Bill Rose, pastor of Toledo Christ the King; Ursuline Sister Christine Pratt, executive director of Our Lady of the Pines Retreat Center in Fremont; Colleen Kookoothe, account manager for FLS Marketing; and Cheryl Nicolaidis, owner of Etcetera Clothing, La Scola and The Hungry I.

Funds raised from this event are to be used to support many of Catholic Charities’ community outreach programs, which include housing services, emergency assistance, adoption services, bereavement support and parish ministries.

Individual tickets are $75 and various levels of sponsorships are available. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Cheryl Schroeder at 419-244-6711, ext. 405 or visit www.danceuncorked.com.
