Steven L. Mickus, president and CEO of the health system, announced at a press conference Aug. 27 that St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center is now Mercy St. Vincent, St. Anne Mercy Hospital is Mercy St. Anne, St. Charles Mercy Hospital is Mercy St. Charles, and St. Vincent Children’s is Mercy Children’s. The health system’s rural facilities include Mercy Tiffin, Mercy Willard and Mercy Hospital of Defiance.

Under the new brand identity, Mercy Health Partners is to be known simply as “Mercy.”

“Putting all of our operations under one name will allow us to tell our story even better to the community and to share even more the Mercy mission and purpose of why we do what we do — to provide the best, most personal care to all who seek health care at a Mercy facility,” Mr. Mickus said.

To symbolize the connectedness of the Mercy facilities, employees representing the four metro Toledo Mercy hospitals planted flowers in a “spirit garden” at Mercy St. Anne.

The press conference also featured the debut of a song called “Brighter Days,” which is to be featured in television and radio advertising for Mercy.

“The standard that we are trying to create is one of excellence and one of compassion, so that no matter whether you’re being admitted to our Mercy facility in Defiance or you’re being admitted to our Mercy facility all the way over there in Willard, you can expect the same high quality product,” said Mr. Mickus.

He noted all Mercy employees share the same mission, “to perpetuate the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.”

Mercy is a part of Catholic Healthcare Partners (CHP), one of the largest non-profit health systems in the United States and the largest in Ohio.
