Three Sisters of Mercy celebrate jubilees |

60 years Sister Elizabeth “Betty” Foos entered the Sisters of Mercy Sept. 8, 1949. An educator for many years of her ministry, she taught at Toledo St. Catherine, Toledo St. Vincent de Paul, Fremont St. Ann and Mansfield St. Mary. She was a founding sister of Vermilion St. Mary elementary school and taught at Ascension School in Cleveland. After retiring from teaching, she served 10 years on the staff of Our Lady of the Pines Retreat Center in Fremont. She is a volunteer at Mercy St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, Reading for Literacy and Double ARC.
50 years Sister Kathleen Mary Moross, from Sandusky, graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in Toledo (now Mercy College of Northwest Ohio) and remained at Mercy Hospital as a medical/surgical nurse until she entered the Sisters of Mercy Sept. 8, 1959. She returned to Toledo Mercy Hospital and served in a number of nursing and administrative roles, including staff development, vice president of nursing and vice president of support services. In addition, she served as manager of independent living facilities in Rossford and Oregon. Currently, she is a volunteer at Mercy St. Charles Hospital.
25 years Sister Linda Falquette entered the Sisters of Mercy Sept. 7, 1984. Currently, her ministry is in the business office of Notre Dame Academy in Toledo. For nine years prior, she served as executive director of Double ARC in Toledo. Her other ministries have included director of planning at Mercy College of Northwest Ohio, director of finance for the Mercy physician group, financial analyst at Mercy and St. Charles hospitals, and math teacher at Mercy Academy in Louisville, Ky.
