PORT CLINTON—Fifth- and sixth-grade students at Port Clinton Immaculate Conception School recently listened to Detective Joe Vidal speak about Internet safety, cyber-bullying and cell phone dangers.
The students were encouraged to never give out personal information and never to write to someone who has made them feel scared. Detective Vidal urged students to tell their parents or another responsible adult if someone is bullying them.
The detective advised students not to attempt to meet someone they know only through chatting on the Internet. He suggested keeping a student’s computer in an open, frequently used area, not in a bedroom.
