Adult enrichment series starts Oct. 12 in Tiffin

TIFFIN—The Spiritual Life Committee of Tiffin St. Joseph is sponsoring an adult enrichment series on topics suggested by parishioners featuring presenters selected from diocesan clergy, area experts and national speakers.

The format for most sessions is a 45-minute presentation, a break for refreshments, followed by time for discussion and questions. All sessions start at 7 p.m. except Dec. 6 and April 18, which start at 8:30 a.m.

Sessions are free of charge and advance reservations are not needed.  For additional information call the parish at 419-447-5848.

2008-2009 Adult Enrichment Series

Sept. 14: “Defending Our Faith: An Introduction to Apologetics” — Father Christopher Bazar, associate pastor of Mansfield St. Peter.

Oct. 12: “Getting to Know Our Mother: Mary’s Place in Our Spiritual Lives” — Father Adam Hertzfield, vocation director of the Diocese of Toledo.

Nov. 3: “The Fathers and (Mothers) Know Best: Development of Spiritual Thought Through the Ages” — Father Allan Fillman, pastor of Paulding Divine Mercy.

Dec. 6: Mass and two morning presentations by Marcus Grodi of EWTN. A freewill offering will be taken.

Jan. 11: “Why Bad Things Happen to Good People: The Transformative Power of Suffering” — Father Raymond Fisher, chaplain of St. Francis Health Care Centre, Green Springs.

Feb. 16: “How Can Someone Forget the Ones They Love?: Living With Alzheimer’s Disease” — Lynn Ritter, PhD., Northwest Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association.

March 1-4: Parish Mission by Dominican Father William Garrott.

April 18: Mass followed by “Keeping Our Youth in Church: How Best to Pass Along Our Faith” — Father Michael Dandurand. pastor of Bowling Green St. Thomas More University Parish.
