Mercy Tiffin nurses selected for ‘Excellence’ awards |

TIFFIN—Mercy Hospital of Tiffin celebrated National Nurses Week in May with a luncheon and presentation of Nursing Excellence Awards. The theme of the week was “Nurses: Making a Difference Every Day.”
Three of the 34 Mercy nurses nominated by fellow nurses and physicians were chosen for awards.
Shirley Enders, hospital-wide nursing supervisor and inpatient coordinator, received the Excellence in Mission Award. She was nominated by emergency care nurse, Catherine Gase. Denise Brooks, progressive medical care unit nurse, received the Excellence in Collaboration Award. She was nominated by co-worker Noel Zimmerman. Mary Kimmet, who coordinates the care of oncology patients in the outpatient department, received the Excellence in Education Award. Marla Peiffer of the outpatient department nominated Ms. Kimmet.
