TIFFIN—Newly ordained Father John Miller discussed his preparation for the priesthood and was presented with a stole made by Joanne Shook at the July meeting of the Tiffin Serra Club.
Fr. Miller encouraged Serra Club members to tell those discerning the priesthood to look at the joyfulness of the saints who suffered intensely, yet were blessed with the fortitude and the gift of God’s presence. He said this strength is what carries him through his vocation.

Fr. Miller’s advice to increase vocations was to allow others to see “holy, happy and healthy priests.” The men and women who commit themselves to a vocation need to be assured that “they can be happy in a life of service for God” as a priest or religious sister, he added.
At the meeting Deacon Floyd Hohman of New Riegel All Saints Parish also introduced transitional Deacon Chris Bohnsack, a seminarian who reflected on his personal and spiritual growth through his internship at All Saints.
Deacon Bohnsack said his return to the seminary took on new meaning for him and his ability to study intensified after that experience because it provided him with a better understanding of his future. He felt his joy for studying and his confidence improved. He is also spiritually energized as he looks ahead to his ordination as a priest in May.
