TIFFIN—Frances Ford, certified nurse practitioner, presents “A Light Talk on Obesity” at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin’s McMullen Conference Center March 18 at 6:30 p.m.

The presentation is free and open to the public. A $10 fee is required for continuing education certificates but is waived for employees of a Mercy Health Partners’ organization and members of the Tiffin Professional Nurses’ Club.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, the prevalence of obesity continues to be a health concern for adults, children and adolescents in the United States. Obesity increases the risk of many diseases and health conditions including coronary heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, cancers, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, stroke, liver and gallbladder disease, sleep apnea and respiratory problems, osteoarthritis and gynecological problems. Ms. Ford is to discuss the implications of obesity on health and current treatment options.
