TIFFIN—Fourth-grade art students from Tiffin Calvert Catholic Schools painted pumpkins for a contest at Riehm Farm Market and Corn Maze.

Area residents were invited to vote for their favorite pumpkin for 25 cents per vote, with all proceeds from the voting benefitting pediatric patients at Mercy Tiffin Hospital. Students from fourth grade classes at Bettsville, Calvert Catholic Schools St. Joseph Campus, Hopewell-Loudon, Mohawk, New Riegel, Seneca East and Washington elementary schools participated in the pumpkin decorating.

The pumpkins were to be auctioned off Oct. 25 at Riehm’s Farm Market, located on North State Route 53 between Tiffin and Fremont. Proceeds from the auction also benefit the hospital.

“We truly appreciate the efforts of John and Diane Riehm in helping raise funds that will benefit pediatric patients at Mercy Tiffin Hospital,” said Bernie Steinmetz, manager of development and donor relations. “It has proven to be a fun way for children to help raise money for other children."
