TIFFIN—The Tridentine Mass, said in Latin, is to be celebrated by Father Joseph Szybka at 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at Tiffin St. Joseph.
In his apostolic letter Summorum Pontificum, Pope Benedict XVI gave permission for a wider use of the Tridentine Mass for the benefit of Roman Catholics throughout the world. This Mass dates back to the 1500s and the Council of Trent.
The celebration of the Tridentine Mass fulfills the Sunday obligation for Catholics, and anyone is welcome to attend. Latin-English missalettes are to be available to help those in attendance to follow and participate in the Mass.
Refreshments and an informal opportunity for questions about the Mass follows in the church’s activity center.
